31DC Delicate

I've had to do this prompt in the past and I hate it. I am not a delicate type of person. I chose to use the opportunity to try out a gradient idea I've had in my head for a while and then I doodled a sort of delicate pattern on top.
This gradient is made up of H&M Orange, OPI Flashbulb Fuchsia and OPI Tomorrow Never Dies. I then added Dragonglass Nails Hear me Roar over the top, although I did dilute this with some acetone as otherwise the gold colour covered the others in the gradient. These photos are with NYC Matte Me Crazy because I love the satiny finish it gives to the manicure.
This is a zentangle design (flying geese) and I like how it shows off some of the gradient and hides other parts
This diluted version of Hear me Roar is perfect for giving a glint of gold to this gradient and I love it, I can't wait to show you swatches of it, they are coming once I finish the 31 Day Challenge.
I love this so much, the gradient is just perfect and the glitter works really well with it :)

31DC Green

This is not really nail art, more a combination of polishes but I recently got both of these polishes and had to try them out. I know shatters went out of fashion last year but I like the look of this one over the nude with the circle glitters just peeping through.
This post is showcasing a gorgeous British indie polish, Growing Strong by Dragon Glass Nails. Growing Strong is based on the Tyrell house in Game of Thrones. Margaery Tyrell is one of my favourite characters from GoT (I can't say why whilst also being spoiler free, but her slytherinness is awesome!)
This is two coats of Growing Strong which still has visible nail line but I quite like that in nude polishes. The yellow glitters came out easily but I had to do some minute fishing and placing of the green glitters. I'm going to blame my overhasty application for the couple of bubbles that appeared.
I love how this looks with the green shatter, I'm not normally a shatter person but in the right circumstances it looks great. Tomorrow is my first stamping in this challenge.

Blood and Fire Nail Art

I did some nail art on top of yesterday's swatch of Dragon Glass Nails Blood and Fire. I have been fancying doing ikat nails for quite a while and thought that doing them in darker colours would be cool.
I love this, it's two coats of Blood and Fire, two coats of top coat, the ikat design in NYC Full metal jacket, Deborah Lippmann Through the Fire and the drew on the lines using my Barry M black nail art pen.
It's not perfect but it looks fantastic, really vampy and cool.
Ikat is very versatile and can make all sorts of polish combinations go together. It's also very very easy to do.

Dragon Glass Nails Blood and Fire Swatches

A couple of weeks ago I posted about a new UK indie polish maker called Dragon Glass Nails and my first one came last week. Blood and Fire is inspired by Game of Thrones (which I haven't yet watched but intend to) and is an aubergine textured polish with gold glitter and a holographic flash. It dries to a textured semi matte finish and dries pretty slowly- resist the temptation to touch it too quickly.
The texture of this is similar to OPI liquid sands but slightly smoother. It's a fairly cold toned purple which is quite unusual and I really like.  It is best at two coats which is what I'm showing you.
But if texture is not your thing you can get a totally different look by top coating. Despite being very glittery and textured this polish is not top coat hungry, two coats is enough to totally even out the polish.
Look how gorgeous that is, you can still see that it is textured but you can't feel it and this way the gold glitter shines out.
Finally I thought I'd show you the beautiful bottle
And for those interested here is a brush next to a Barry M brush for comparison. Very easy to use, no bent bristles.
If you like indie polishes you should definitely check out Dragon Glass Nails. Tomorrow I'll show you the nail art I did on top of this polish.

PS: What do you think of my new blog header?

British Indie News- Dragon Glass Nails

Do you follow me on twitter? If you do you may already have heard about Dragon Glass Nails, a new British indie bursting onto the scene. Georgia currently has two polishes available for pre order- a gold holo top coat called Hear me Roar and an aubergine, gold, holo, textured extravaganza called Blood and Fire (inspired by Game of Thrones). I have opted for Blood and Fire because it looks so different to anything I currently own. I pinched the bottle shots from etsy for you to have a look at.
Check out her etsy shop here (Dragon Glass Nails) and see for yourself :)
