Flame Nails

Today's post is a quick one of a flame manicure I did.
I based this on this tutorial by Honeymunchkin. If you're going to try this I recommend waiting until your base colour is dry before you start adding in colours with your striping brush.
The polishes used here are: OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest, I'm not really a waitress, A woman's prague-ative, Bourjois Sunny Sun, Orly Holla, NYC Chelsea Cherry, Digital Nails Bad Wolf and Lac Attack Weasleys' Wizarding Wheezes.

Pocket Money Polishes Ice Ice Baby Nail Art

A little while ago Pocket Money Polishes ran a quick competition asking for photos of their polishes looking great with unusual items. I decided to do a quick manicure to show off Ice Ice Baby. When I'm deciding which colour to show off a clear based glitter against I'll often do a few swatches against different colours, this polish looked great over black, yellow and pale blue. I'm also really into unusual gradients so I decided to do a gradient with these three colours.

Day 20: 3D Nails OMD Challenge

3D nails... What the hell counts for 3D nails? I can't stand having things sticking up off my nails, I can't even stand the texture polishes on my finger nails so needless to say I won't be doing actual 3D nails, instead I will be doing dots with shadows as if they are 3D. I have to admit this was started with no real aim in mind but I really like how it finished up with the shimmery base going well with the creme graphic dots. It reminds me of atoms moving about, or lego.
So many polishes, the base is two coats of Barry M black with a coat of Topshop Mermaid (gorgeous over black, but rubbish alone). the base dots were done in A England Bridal Veil and the coloured dots are in Barry M Guava and Bourjois Sunny Sun.
I really like how these turned out, the colours and the design work well together.
Check out everyone else's 3D nails here.

Model's Own Nail stickers

I have somewhat of a love hate relationship with nail stickers. I love the complex looks you can get on your nail without multiple layers of polish and hours of time but nail stickers do not like my nails. I have tiny tiny child hands and as a result very thin, very curvy nails. This means that the nail stickers buckle and curve and I have to trim them and all in all it's a huge faff. But I've been seeing them pop up all over everyone else's blogs and they look so good therefore I have three different brands of nail sticker to show you over the course of the week followed by a round up post.

Today's manicure will star Model's Own Pow nail stickers. These are their awesome stickers based off comic book styling however these are sooooo long. Seriously how many normal, average people have nails long enough to fit on more than half of these stickers? Which is really unfortunate because when I wear these I lose most of the coloured polka dot bit and the words look a little strange by themselves.

Anyway I soldiered on- I have vined my process (love vine) so you can see what I did to apply these. Click on the jump to see my video :).
